Terms & License

These terms govern your use of FainLane, a Mac app provided by Prashant Anand, an individual business operator based in Japan (“we,” “us,” or “our”). Contact us at prashant@fainlane.com.

FainLane uploads a clipboard image to your remote machine over SSH and inserts the resulting file path into a supported terminal. You decide when to submit that input.

Purchases are made through Lemon Squeezy, the merchant of record and authorized reseller. The Lemon Squeezy Buyer Terms govern your purchase transaction with Lemon Squeezy. These terms govern the app license and our commitments to you. Neither these terms nor our voluntary refund policy limits rights you have under applicable consumer law.

Your license

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive license to use FainLane for personal or business purposes during your trial or paid subscription period. The software is licensed, not sold; we and our licensors retain ownership of it.

Each license covers one active Mac at a time. You may move the license to a replacement Mac by releasing the previous activation. Contact support if you cannot access the old Mac. Using FainLane on multiple Macs requires a separate license for each Mac.

You may not share a license key to enable use on additional Macs, resell or sublicense FainLane, distribute unauthorized copies, or bypass its trial or license restrictions. You may not modify, decompile, or reverse engineer the app except where applicable law permits this despite a contractual restriction. Third-party components remain subject to their own licenses, with notices provided in the app.

Free trial

The free trial lasts 14 consecutive calendar days from first launch. It requires no account, email address, payment card, or subscription signup. It does not automatically convert to a paid subscription, and you will not be charged unless you separately make a purchase.

After the trial ends, continued use of FainLane’s paste features requires an active paid subscription. Reinstalling the app does not entitle you to restart the trial.

Price and annual renewal

FainLane costs US$12 per year, plus applicable sales tax, VAT, or similar taxes. Lemon Squeezy calculates applicable taxes and displays the total before you confirm payment. Any currency conversion or fees charged by your bank or payment provider are outside our control.

The subscription begins when your purchase is completed and includes app use and updates made available during the paid period. Your payment method is charged at purchase and automatically at each annual renewal unless you cancel. Your receipt or customer portal shows your billing dates and subscription details.

Your license key is made available electronically after successful payment, through your purchase receipt and Lemon Squeezy’s customer pages. Contact support if you cannot retrieve it.

Internet access is required for license activation and periodic validation. A failed renewal payment may be retried by Lemon Squeezy. If the subscription expires or a license is disabled following a refund or valid termination, paid access ends. FainLane is not a perpetual license or a license only for updates.

Cancellation

You can cancel future renewals through the subscription-management link in your receipt or by opening your purchase in Lemon Squeezy My Orders. Cancel before the next renewal and check the confirmation. If you need Lemon Squeezy to process cancellation by contacting its support, its Buyer Terms request at least 48 hours’ notice before the billing period ends.

Cancellation preserves access until the end of the period you have already paid for. It does not, by itself, refund an existing charge. After that period, continued use requires a new or resumed paid subscription. Uninstalling FainLane does not cancel billing.

Refunds

You may request a full refund within 14 days of your first purchase, without having to give a reason. Email prashant@fainlane.com with your order number and purchase email address. Your request date determines whether it is within the window; you do not need to receive our reply within those 14 days.

This voluntary refund offer applies to the initial purchase, not annual renewal charges. Outside that offer, we do not ordinarily provide refunds for changing your mind or for unused portions of a subscription. Please contact us about duplicate charges, billing mistakes, or a product that does not work as promised.

Refunds are processed through Lemon Squeezy and are subject to its processing procedures and any independent refund decision it makes. Payment-provider processing times may vary. When a full initial-purchase refund is issued, the associated subscription is canceled and the paid license is revoked.

Your statutory rights remain unaffected. This policy does not exclude any applicable withdrawal right or remedy for faulty, misdescribed, or undelivered digital content, including rights that may apply after the voluntary refund window. You do not waive those rights merely by accepting these terms or downloading the app.

Your use of FainLane

Use FainLane only with systems and images you are authorized to access and transfer. You remain responsible for your server, SSH configuration, credentials, backups, and any coding agent or other service you use with it. We do not claim ownership of your images.

Review the destination and terminal input before submitting it. A successful upload or terminal handoff does not establish that a coding agent received, read, or understood the image. FainLane does not submit prompts for you.

Remote images remain on your server until removed there. Local cleanup, uninstalling, cancellation, and license expiry do not remove remote images. FainLane’s recent local records are a convenience for recovery, not a backup service.

Compatibility is limited to the supported requirements and workflows described on the website and in the app. We do not promise compatibility with every terminal, server configuration, future operating-system version, or coding agent. Nothing in this section removes our obligation to provide the functionality and remedies required by applicable law.

Support and updates

We provide English email support and aim to respond within five business days, excluding weekends and Japanese public holidays. This is a response target, not a guaranteed service level. See Support for contact details.

We may release fixes and improvements, but do not promise particular future features or a fixed release schedule. This does not limit any obligation to provide updates or remedies required by applicable law. Information about data handling is in our Privacy Policy.

Changes and discontinuation

Any subscription price increase will apply only to a future renewal, with at least 30 days’ advance notice and any consent required by law. It will not change the price of a period already paid for. You may cancel before the new price takes effect.

We may update these terms for changes to the product or legal requirements. We will identify the effective date and give reasonable advance notice of material changes, except where an urgent legal or security change requires earlier action. We will obtain agreement where required by law. Changes will not retroactively remove rights relating to an existing purchase.

If we permanently discontinue FainLane and cannot provide access for the remainder of your paid period, we will stop future renewals and arrange a proportional refund through Lemon Squeezy for the unused paid period.

Ending a license for misuse

We may suspend or terminate a license for a material breach of these terms, such as unauthorized license sharing or deliberate circumvention. Where the breach can be corrected, we will normally give notice and a reasonable opportunity to correct it. Immediate action may be necessary for fraud, a serious security risk, or legal requirements. This does not limit your statutory rights or entitle us to retain payments where the law requires a refund.

Warranties and liability

We aim to provide a reliable app but cannot promise uninterrupted or error-free operation. Except for the commitments expressly made in these terms and warranties required by law, FainLane is provided without additional warranties, including warranties of fitness for a particular purpose. Mandatory standards of quality, conformity, and reasonable care remain unaffected.

For loss arising from our ordinary negligence, our total liability arising out of or relating to FainLane is limited to the greater of US$100 or the total fees you paid for FainLane in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim, but only where that limitation is permitted by law.

This limit does not apply to fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or any other liability that cannot lawfully be limited. It does not reduce a refund or other mandatory consumer remedy to which you are entitled.

Applicable law

These terms and the app license are governed by the laws of Japan. If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of mandatory protections under the laws that otherwise apply where you live, or your right to bring a claim in a court available to you under those laws. Please contact us first if you would like help resolving a concern; doing so is not a condition of exercising your legal rights.

If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue to apply to the extent permitted by law.
